Safety advice for Lumea Liquid Wax Candles

Harmful: may cause lung damage if swallowed.
•  Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking.
•  Keep out of the reach of children.
•  For small children a single sip of lamp oil, even sucking the wick, can cause life-threatening lung damage.
•  Do not breathe vapour.
•  Avoid contact with skin.
•  If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: seek medical advice immediately or contact a poison information centre and show this container and label.
•  Never leave a burning oil lamp unattended.

How to use Lumea Liquid Wax Candle Lamps

  Remove plastic cap from liquid wax candle.
•  Ensure the liquid wax candle remains upright once the plastic cap has been removed.
•  Place candle in lamp.
•  Light candle by applying match or safety lighter to wick.
•  Do not tamper with the wick.
•  Do not refill.
•  Extinguish by blowing out the flame.
•  Replace plastic cap when candle is not in use.
•  Burn in a well-ventilated area.
•  Keep out of the reach of children, whether lit or not.
•  Keep away from draughts and air conditioning.
•  Do not move a lit liquid wax candle lamp. Extinguish the flame first, let it cool and then move.
•  Lumea Candle Lamps are designed for use only with Lumea Liquid Wax Candles and, in some cases, Lumea Lamp Lights. Do not use tealights or other wax candles in Lumea Candle Lamps.
•  Lamps can be hand-washed in lukewarm water. Not suitable for dishwasher cleaning.

Safety advice for Wax Candles



•  Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  Burn candle out of the reach of children and pets.
  Always leave at least 10cm between burning candles.
  Do not burn candles on or near anything that can catch fire.

•  Do not place candles in a draught.
•  Do not place candles near a source of heat.
•  Place candles in an upright position.
•  Trim wick to about 1cm before lighting.
•  Always snuff out the flame. Do not blow it out.
•  Always use a candleholder.
•  Keep the wax pool clear of matches and other debris to avoid flaring.
•  Only use tealights in holders and warming stoves with sufficient ventilation.
•  Do not move a burning candle.
•  Use a suitable container where appropriate as some candles liquefy when burning.
•  Never use liquid to extinguish the flame.

•  Keep away from sources of ignition – no smoking.
•  In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.

How to use all Lumea Chafing Fuels

•  Take care with an open flame product.
•  Wash hands to remove any fuel residue.
•  Place the can under heating equipment (e.g. a chafing dish) before lighting.
•  Ensure the can is securely in position in the equipment before lighting.
•  Use a long–handle match or a butane lighter to light the can.
•  Don't use a lit can to light another can.
•  Never position a can on a table top or on table linen.
•  Never handle or carry a lit can.
•  Never carry heating equipment (e.g. a chafing dish) with lit cans inside.
•  Keep hair, clothing, table linen and all other combustible items away from the flame.
•  Don't leave a burning can unattended.
•  Never use your hands to extinguish a flame.
•  Replace the lid/cap before disposal to prevent any fuel leakage.

Additional instructions for using Lumea Gel Chafing Fuel

•  Take care – the flame on gel fuel when lit is barely visible.
•  Use a blunt object (e.g. a spoon) to open the lid.
•  Don't use a sharp object (e.g. a knife) to open the lid.
•  Place your hand over the lid when opening a can.
•  Remove excess gel from the lid using a blunt object.
•  Never remove excess gel from the lid with your finger or clothing.
•  Never handle or carry a lit can – they can become very hot!
•  Use a small non–flammable object (e.g. a saucer) to extinguish the flame – never attempt to blow out the flame.
•  Don't touch a can for some time after it is extinguished – the can takes a while to cool.
•  If you are handling the gel wear appropriate protective clothing and gloves.

•  Extinguish the flame by blowing it out.
•  Allow wick to cool sufficiently after extinguishing the flame before moving the can.
•  Don't touch the wick after the flame has been extinguished.
•  Don't tamper with the wick.

Storage & Disposal of Lumea Gel Chafing Fuel

•  Keep out of the reach of children.
•  Store with the lid tightly closed.
•  Store away from all sources of ignition – do not smoke.
•  Gel fuel should be stored in a well–ventilated and secure (locked) area.
•  When empty, dispose of in an environmentally safe manner. Recycle packaging where facilities exist.
